Waveform Design for Range-ISL Minimization with Spectral Compatibility in MIMO Radars

In this paper we consider a waveform design problem for colocated Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar systems. We aim to minimize the range- Integrated Sidelobe (ISL) with compatible spectral response under discrete phase constraint. In this regards, first we define the range-ISL function in time domain, then by exploiting the Parseval relation we express the range-ISL in frequency domain. Subsequently, to apply the spectral compatibility, we incorporate weights on the range-ISL in frequency domain. This leads to a multi-variable, non-convex and NP hard optimization problem. In order to obtain a local optimum solution, we proposed an iterative algorithm based on Coordinate Descent (DC) method. In the numerical results we show the performance of the proposed method and compare it with the state of the art.
