Investigation of the Frequency-Controlled Electric Drive of the Gas Air Cooling Units

The regulation of air-cooling leads to energy and raw material savings, an increase in service life and an increase in the reliability of the air cooler, and the efficient conduct of the technological process. The most significant item of gas air cooling units operating costs is the electric power consumed by the fan drive. The authors investigated the frequencycontrolled electric drive of the gas air cooling apparatus. The article presents a description of the technological process of gas transportation, a description of the gas air cooling apparatus, methods of regulation, a method for determining the optimal frequency of the power supply network of the electric drive of the gas air cooling apparatus with frequency regulation. The authors also constructed a mathematical model of the gas air cooling apparatus based on an asynchronous electric drive in the Matlab/Simulink.
