Study on the Influence of Driving Fatigue on Drivers' Effective Reaction Time

The test platform of driver's effective reaction time is built. Through the test of driver's effective reaction time at different fatigue states, the effects of simple sleepiness and driving fatigue on driver's effective reaction time are studied. The research shows that with the deepening of drowsiness or fatigue, the driver's effective reaction time tends to prolong, but the extension range is not particularly significant. From normal state to severe fatigue or drowsiness, the time is extended about 0.1s. However, the discrete degree of reaction time changes significantly. The probability of extremely long reaction time is greatly improved. Because of this, the safety risk of driving increases sharply.
