Mid-infrared Exosome Detection with Plasmonic Nanoantenna Arrays

Exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles considered as a promising source of cancer biomarkers originating from the parent cells. We develop mid-infrared plasmonic nanoantenna arrays to detect, in the liquid phase, the specific vibrational absorption signal of the protein cargo of exosomes. The unspecific refractive index change is simultaneously detected by the same plasmonic array to monitor the reaction dynamics.
