Planning Analysis of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) System for Bangladesh

The building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) sys-tem has become a considerable factor for urbanization and energy sustainability. For the small but developing countries like Bangladesh where the solar potential is noteworthy, such a system may play a vital role in sustainable development. To meet the increasing demand for energy the study of feasibility analysis of BIPV system in terms of strategic planning is pursued in this study. The study incorporates the SWOT and Market Analysis of integrating the building integrated photovoltaic system in Bangladesh that finds out the favourable factors as well as the limitations. For Bangladesh, the availability of enough solar insolation indicates the potential of such a system whereas the absence of proper guidance and framework has made the integration of the BIPV system vulnerable. Besides, the possibility of getting economic returns from such a system influences the establishment of this energy harvesting system whereas the possible clash between the system and the currently presented system highlights the challenges while integrating the system. Addressing the investigation of SWOT and Market, the challenge overcoming steps are also proposed later in this study.
