Performance Evaluation of an In-house Developed Characteristic Mode Analysis Tool

In this paper, performance evaluation of an in-house developed software tool for the characteristic mode analysis is presented. A Python-based interactive graphical user interface is developed for the 64-bit Windows environment. The developed program can be used for the characteristic mode analysis of metallic structures and can be controlled through scripting as well as user arguments. The simulated results obtained through the in-house developed code for the CM analysis is compared with the commercially available EM simulation software having the capability to perform CM analysis. It was observed that the results obtained from the in-house CMA tool are in good agreement with the commercially available software.
