Printed wireless battery-free sensor tag for structural health monitoring of natural fiber composites

This paper presents a fully printed wireless sensor tag for measuring temperature and strain. The sensor concept was developed in the spirit of sustainability and in line with the European Green Deal, without the use of a battery or a chip. This makes it a promising candidate for integration in natural fiber reinforced composites. Measurement results show the function of the wireless read-out over a distance of 2.5 mm.
