Cloud ERP API Ontology

Many small and medium companies use different ERP systems in cloud. Providers of ERP cloud systems offer different application programming interfaces (APIs) to support connectivity with other systems and applications. In this work, we present a cloud ERP API ontology to describe main cloud ERP resources used in providers’ APIs. This is a first attempt to deal with cloud ERP vendor lock-in problem using a unified ontology of cloud ERP APIs. Ontology was created using prominent ontology development method after analysis of three most widely used ERP cloud offers provided by Oracle, Microsoft, and SAP. The proposed ontology can be used for interoperability among publicly available cloud ERP APIs.
