6G D-Band Receiver Model with High Spectral Efficiency Enabling Global System Optimization

This paper presents a D-band wireless receiver (Rx) model covering a complete Zero- & Low-IF receiver front-end, including high-level ADC specifications. The model is capable of simulating IQ-modulated discrete-time signals in Matlab Simulink for system trade-off analysis, optimization, and performance validation. Compared to standard AWGN-channel models, the proposed model allows the accurate analysis of both noise and nonlinearity effects of the complete RF front-end and ADC. The receiver model includes all key model parameters and can characterize wideband up to 1024-QAM signals covering signal bands beyond 3GHz at D-band carrier frequencies. As a result the presented model enables Rx verification with effective data rates beyond 30 Gbit/s for a single channel.
