Manufacturing Equipment Technology for Automotive Display

The automotive display market is expected to rapidly grow which should trigger the equipment market to also grow. The display usage environment is different when compared with automobiles and smartphones. Examples include harsh temperature requirements and strict safety regulations for automobiles thus display device, type of material, and the manufacturing equipment to produce automotive display require technology innovation. ULVAC has continuously developed new technology to satisfy our customers demand for each generation size for multiple applications. Products include R&D and manufacturing equipment, components as well as new target materials used for sputtering process and inspection equipment. Currently, most of the panels used for automotive displays use Liquid crystal display (LCD), however expectation toward utilizing organic light emitting diode (OLED) is growing due to characteristics such as high contrast, etc. In this report, we will mainly focus on the key technology required for manufacturing equipment in the OLED display.
