Energy efficient Enhanced LEACH Protocol for IoT based applications in Wireless Sensor Networks

To monitor hazardous or dangerous areas, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have been hailed as an ideal solution. As a result of their low power consumption and wireless connection, sensor webs have become a popular method for collecting valuable field data. For these reasons, WSN protocols place a high priority on reducing their power consumption. Using the LEACH protocol, clusters of sensor nodes are grouped together before being sent to the base station to reduce the amount of energy used (BS). The TN-LEACH is being considered because of the limitations of WSN, such as battery life, sensor deployment area, and sensor energy consumption, which make it unsuitable for specific applications. LEACH protocol in sensor networks may be improved by lowering packet delay time and extending network lifetime and data transmission duration, as this study proposes a new approach called Things Network LEACH (TN-LEACH).
