Approach to controlling the position of the space observatory “Millimetron” mirror elements by the high-precision system

The paper deals with the development of a high-precision system for monitoring the position of the elements of the optical system of the Millimetron observatory. The necessity of using two measuring channels is shown: a 3D laser scanner is used for preliminary control of the position of the reflector elements, and an image analyzer based on the Foucault knife method is used for the final control. The results of modeling the optical system of the telescope together with the system under development are presented. As a result of modeling and testing, it has been shown that the accuracy of measuring the angular position of the panels of the main mirror of the telescope will be about 0.3″.
