Silver Lining: A Mobile Application Featuring Student Welfare Facilities For the Bangladeshi University Students

Over the years, universities play a leading role to transform the lives of the students and country peoples through education and research. The major student affairs related activities of the universities are semester course regis-tration, examination and class information notice circulation, grade sheet, certificate, scholarship issue, transport, hostel, and medical facilities, among others. Currently, most Bangladeshi universities rely on the offline based system for the student welfare-related activities rather than the online system. Further, the existing student welfare works consider only one or two major issues for the online-based service rather than more. Due to a lack of proper systematic developments (i.e., only offline), the university students may suffer from huge time, complexity, and cost for the student welfare activities. To get through the existing challenges, this work presents a university student mobile application named as silver lining by taking into account several student welfare related facilities such as course registration, student online post regarding help, transport tracking, mentors, medical help, certificate, scholarship, hostel seat apply, notice board, profile, among others. The user assessment results specify that more than 85 % of users are pleased with the beneficial nature of the proposed application features.
