Influence of Electromagnetic Interference on the Operation of the Measuring and Control Unit

This work is devoted to the optimization of data collection and processing system operating in conditions of external electromagnetic interference, and is a logical continuation of the research in a typical circuit of a field measuring complex in order to search for possible problems with stable operation and ways to solve them. Functions of the main working units and order of their interaction are analyzed in this work. Conditions for the uninterrupted operation of the equipment are formulated. Actions to protect against interference of internal and external communication channels are listed. The general physical methods of protection against external interference are highlighted. Functions of serial data transmission protocols are analyzed. Direct measurement of the analog signal is performed by an analog-to-digital converter controlled by special controller that uses the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) protocol. Data transfer between the controller and the PC is carried out using the UART/USART protocol (Universal Synchronous / Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter - UART or USART). In addition to the standard ones, for internal data exchange, a proprietary protocol was used. For each protocol, examples of software setup for all stages are provided: initialization, reinitialization in case of failure, data transfer, transfer control. Possibilities of information optimization exchange protocols are listed. Methods of equipment control, self-control and self-recovery are proposed.
