Electronics Leveling Subject in the Master's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics engineering represents the fusion of technologies such as control, mechanics, electricity, electronics, or informatics that allow addressing the engineering challenges posed by the new intelligent machines. The Master's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering is being taught at the Higher Technical School of Design Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de València since 2013. Nevertheless, there is no Degree in Mechatronics Engineering so the students come from other specialized technological degrees, such as the Bachelor Degrees in Mechanics, Electronics and Automation, or Computer Science Engineering. To compensate these origin differences, the Master's Curriculum begins with some levelling subjects to ensure that all the students achieve similar and homogeneous knowledge. “Electronics and Instrumentation” is one of these levelling subjects aiming to provide the necessary knowledge in a limited time to let the students continue with the rest of the electronics subjects in the Master's Degree. Throughout this communication, the teaching experience of this subject is described, indicating its approaches, contents, assessment and results.
