Solar Operated IoT based Smart System to Monitor Illegal Logging

Forest plays an important role in balancing the ecological system. Illegal logging is the process of cutting trees and moving them illegally from the protected areas. This will in turn affect the ecological balance to a great extent. Over 2511 square kilometers of the Reserve forest cover has been destroyed due to illegal logging. This has affected the living space of even some rare species. To prevent these sorts of activities, this research study has created an IoT based Smart System to Monitor Illegal Logging. The proposed system not only detects Illegal logging but also finds out about the forest fire and intimates it to the responsible authorities. This will prevent the loss of trees in the forest due to illegal logging and forest fire. This whole monitoring process is carried over with the support of a solar power supply.
