IEEE Standards Related to Materials Used in Motors and Generators

The purpose of this paper is to educate the reader about IEEE standards that exist under the jurisdiction of the IEEE PES EMD Materials Subcommittee. A discussion of the specific standards worked on in the MaSC (Materials Subcommittee) will be presented, including highlights of the documents. The author wishes to recognize the many, many people who have contributed to MaSC activities over the years. This volunteer work is done to provide the industry with a base of knowledge and expertise from which the present and future engineers can learn and continue to grow. If you have expertise that is relevant to these standards, please consider becoming a volunteer. There is much knowledge to be gained and shared by pooling our collective expertise.
