A Comparative Study of IoT Based Smart Traffic Management System

Traffic congestion is one of the most alarming problems in the world. Different types of pollution and wastage of resources are seen due to traffic-related issues. People waste a lot of time in traffic which is never said to be productive. Traffic problems cause damage to the people, their vehicles, the environment, etc. Additionally, violation of traffic rules is another common reason for having poor traffic conditions in most busy cities of the world. Therefore, designing a smart IoT-based traffic system is a reliable solution, and having such a smart traffic system can minimize traffic issues over time. Technology has improved a lot within the last few decades. By implementing a smart management system, the traffic conditions of the road can be monitored, and based on the monitored data traffic signals can be controlled. Using image processing, if anyone tries to violate traffic rules can be taken under the law. People may also get the traffic status of any road if a smart traffic control system is implemented in that certain area. In this way, through developing now and then, a very strong smart traffic control system can be implemented. This paper intends to focus on IoT-based traffic management systems proposed by different researchers and discuss and compare their features.
