Effect of Gold thin film deposition in holey-Fiber based liquid sensor

In this article, high sensitivity holey Fiber based Surface Plasmonic Resonance (SPR) liquid sensor is modeled and analyzed. Thin gold metal is deposited to tune the SPR condition in the inner and outer polished surfaces. The circular and elliptical core is used in various sensing techniques such as the Internal and External polished sensing approach for analyzing the performance of this sensor. The full vector finite element method helps the numerical investigation of the sensor in the measurement of the Refractive Index (RI) ranging from (1.33 to1.34). The high sensitivity is obtained (30,000nm/RIU) in the polished external sensing method.
