Experimental study on pore pressure attenuation in rubble mound breakwater in depth-limited water conditions

Permeable rubble mound coastal structures protect coastal areas from wave action by dissipating the incident wave energy also through friction inside the porous body of the structure. Recently, new 2D laboratory experiments have been performed in the wave flume at the EUMER laboratory of the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy) to investigate the effects of depth-limited water conditions on wave-induced dynamic pressures in a rubble mound breakwater. This research aims to validate the existing pore pressure attenuation relationships for a broader range of water conditions (including depth-limited ones), profiting from the performed model tests.
