Channel Based SOC Feedthrough Insertion Methodology

In fully abutted Systems-on-chip (SOC) designs, feedthrough insertion is often an important step before pin placement in floorplan stage. Usual approaches are implemented manually or handled in flatten design, however it is challenging to deal with the large number connections on the top, the harden blocks with multi-level hierarchies, and the net connected to multiple pins. We present a flow with iteration algorithms to conquer these issues and to improve the efficiency of automated processing.
