An IoT based Alert System with Gas Sensors in a WSN Framework for Evasion of Forest Fire

Forest fires cause chaos on the habitats of animals, plants, and even humans. Forest fires can occur spontaneously or as a consequence of human intervention. In the natural world, lightning is a common source of forest fires. Prior to a fire, there is usually a release of gases such as CO2, CO, and CH4, which is frequently ignored by earlier warning systems. A three-process prototype is employed in this paper, which involves data collecting, data processing, and communication. The above-mentioned chemicals are automatically detected with appropriate sensors and conveyed essentially to warn officials about the forest fire using Arduino and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). This can help in the real-time prevention of forest fires by alerting the end user prior to the start of forest fire. The WSN protocol utilizes hardware, software, communication protocols, topology, and functionality to achieve its goals. Sensors and GPS position data are also supplied to help forest management avoid a major calamity.
