Review of Economic Load Dispatch Problems by Intelligence based Optimization

The cost of power generation is affected by the growth in real power demand in the power system. For the cost-effective dispatch of thermal units, a variety of traditional and clever procedures are in use. The basic goal of these intelligent approaches is to arrange the overall demand among all the units in a thermal plant at the lowest possible fuel cost. Power system's functions like low-cost and efficient ability are determined when good resources are produced by system. Global intelligence optimization techniques inspired by swarm intelligence and genetic algorithm have been discussed to challenge Economic Load Dispatch problems. This paper presents a review on various intelligence based optimization techniques for ELD problems.
