Computational Trust for Securing IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a vast network of devices interacting together just as a human society would. As human life is bounded by the confines of Earth, the IoT is a boundless space that is limited only by the amount of data that can be stored. As we have police in our society to keep order, the digital world also requires a security force to protect data and punish malicious devices. Without trust models to protect user data, everyone would be vulnerable to privacy breaches. In this paper, we present a survey on computational trust models utilized in cyber security applications focusing on IoTs. These models are tasked with protecting devices in networks and data from malicious users. The models in this survey are presented based on their environmental choice.
