Compact Dual Band circular Hexa fractal Antenna

In this work, a single element circular hexa micro-strip patch antenna design has been presented. This structure is decorous for X and Ku band applications. In the proposed structure fractal and DGS technique is used for dual band operation. The proposed structure is designed and analysed on FR4-epoxy substrate with a permittivity of ɛr = 4.3. The over all volume of antenna is 20×18×1.6mm

The proposed design operates at dual resonant frequencies 10.21 GHz and 13.34GHz with return loss of -44.36 dB and -21.51 dB with the impedance bandwidth of ~11.88% (9.562-10.708 GHz) and 1.244 GHz (12.39 -13.63GHz) for the dual bands. The proposed design was simulated and analyzed by making use of CST Microwave studio software.
