PV Placement for Reducing Losses Based On Load Bus Capacity

Renewable energy resources are needed along with the increasing energy demand and the depletion of fossil energy sources. The addition of a distributed generator from renewable energy resources is one solution to overcome these problems. The addition of a distributed generator in the form of PV integration is expected to reduce network losses in the system. In this study, the power flow method is used to determine the location of the distributed generator and calculate network losses. The capacity of the distributed generator is 30% of the total active power on the IEEE 14 bus system. Based on the simulation results and analysis, it is found that the addition of a distributed generator can reduce network losses by 8.084 MW and 32.65 MVar in the system.
