The Dynamics of SEIQR-V Malware Propagation Model in IoT Networks

Among all types of IP enabled nodes, IoT nodes are more vulnerable to malware attacks as most of them have limited computing power and memory constraints among others which forced them to have no full flagged OS and anti-virus software and they also go with default password settings. Therefore, we proposed a SEIQR-V malware propagation epidemic model in IoT networks which is just a latest version of the SEIR Epidemic model by inserting two more classes called as vaccination (V) and quarantine (Q). Here, vaccination defined as an active defender to prevent the outbreak of infectious malware and the class quarantine implies an isolation of the nodes from the network while going through a treatment process to remove the malware. We computed the basic reproductive ratio (Ro) for this model and determined the existence of equilibrium. Furthermore, we calculate their stability for both Malware-free and Malware-endemic equilibrium point of the model. Numerical Simulation are performed through MATLAB to validate the vitality of model developed.
