Secure Parking and Reservation System Integrated with Car Plate Recognition and QR Code

In today’s world, smart parking concept became a great solution for a modern parking and efficient street-parking management. Smart Parking uses sensing devices such as cameras, vehicle counting equipment, sensors to detect the vacant parking spaces in shopping mall, condominium and other places. However, to develop a proper smart parking system, security system needs to take into consideration as well. Thus, a smart parking system with integrated security system is proposed. The aim of this research is to have a high user satisfaction for the parking system which will use two platforms, a website and an android application. The website will help the users to book an available parking spot within the available parking space. The proposed system is integrated with Car plate recognition system and QR code as a backup if the car plate recognition unable to detect the car plate. The parking gate will be equipped with camera that link to the car plate recognition system in identifying the car plate. Moreover, the website will help the drivers to monitor their parking history. Also, the system will calculate the parking time and date to detect it from the driver’s account. The website will be developed by considering the system security. Several security features will be applied to the system such as SSL, SQL injection prevention, 2FA, Google Captcha, SHA-1 Hashing, session hijacking prevention and a log file to monitor any suspicious activities in the driver account.
