An IoT-based Dam Water Level Monitoring and Alerting System

Dam Water management (DAM) plays a significant role in both water scarcity and overflow scenarios. It is essential to construct a monitoring system based on current systems that permit the use of advanced sensor networks. The primary objective of this project work is to use an IoT-based dam water management system for agriculture and protect the people against flooding when achieving a certain level in the dam. The different sensors are used in this project work to monitor the overall dam and major pipeline every twenty-four hours. The WSN communicate with one another and send information to a gateway. The general storage space “Cloud” saves and transmits data to the spectator in real-time. Hence, the dam controller obtains data from the environment and calculates the amount of water needed. The quantity of water needed will vary based on the type of crop grown in that agricultural area. The simulation results prove that the proposed IoT-DWM achieves better results, saves a significant amount of water, and reduces water scarcity.
