Uncovering Values and Philosophy of Songket Silungkang through Motion Graphic to Conserve the Cultural Heritage

Songket Silungkang is woven from Minangkabau which is one of the traditional woven cultural arts products, originating from the Silungkang area of Sawahlunto City. Songket Silungkang is one of the cultural heritages that has been patented by the City of Sawahlunto, but not all people understand the values and philosophies contained in the motifs and patterns of Songket Silungkang. From the observations of designers, the current generation has left the meaning and philosophy of Songket Silungkang which is identical to education and life guidelines. This design was carried out to provide education and information about the philosophy of the Songket Silungkang motifs and patterns. Education is done by analyzing and building digital media about Songket Silungkang using Motion Graphics. The method in designing this media is 4D (Four D) which includes define, design, develop, and disseminate. At the design stage, an approach study with Minangkabau culture was carried out. The results of this motion graphic design are used for the preservation of Songket Silungkang, as well as providing convenience for the public in understanding the meaning and philosophy of Songket Silungkang.
