Modeling and Performance Analysis of a SOFC in Small Scale Stand Alone DC System

Concerns regarding reduced greenhouse gas emission has been borne globally since last few decades. Besides, limited amount and polluting nature of fossil fuel-based sources has led the researchers to focus on efficient energy harnessing techniques from renewable resources. Fuel cell plays a vital role in this aspect as it is very much suitable for DC based power systems. Solid Oxide fuel cell (SOFC) converts its internal chemical energy to electricity without any emission at a high efficiency. In present study, performance of a SOFC fuel cell on standalone DC system was simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. A power electronic interface is inserted in the proposed system to minimize undesired oscillation in the system.
