Reimagining the Future of Communication with 5G Networks

Wireless communication technologies have evolved tremendously over the years and they are continuing to do so. Developed with a vision to provide unrivaled data rates and uninterrupted connectivity in all parts of the world, 5G will be a driving force in an attempt to bring a massive revolution in the existing landscape of information and communication technology (ICT) industry. In my view, 4G was a promising new technology, but 5G is the ultimate deal-breaker, with features and capabilities that have the potential to bring a significant change in the arena of wireless communications. 5G doesn't undermine the outstanding impact that the legacy core (LTE) networks have had. Moreover, while introducing new features like IoT and cloud computing, 5G is also focused on eradicating the limitations that 4G networks had to a great extent. This paper focuses on discussing in detail the characteristics and components of 5G networks that justify the anticipation that it has been creating over the years and concludes with discussing the impact of the recent pandemic on 5G.
