Detection of DDOS Attack Using IDS Mechanism: A Review

There are many problems with the Internet right now, but one of them is called “Distributed Denial of Service attacks.” Various ways of protecting against this type of attack, which has become more common in the time being studied, have been thought up by people. Even so, there hasn't been a way to completely stop the attacks that have been made. It is very important for people who work with computer security to be able to spot and protect against DDoS attacks. Scientists have written this paper to look at how to find out if your computer is being hit by a DDoS attack. This is what we know about detection from reading. You need to think about things like techniques, variables, tools, deployment location, time, and detection accuracy when you do this kind of study. Each method used to find out about attacks exploits certain things about network traffic, user requests, and certain types of tools, it was found. In the end, it was able to figure out which methods are the best at detecting things, like the datasets they use, Good DDoS detection analysis can be very useful when it comes to coming up with a good strategy for stopping the attacks. People are trying to get rid of the web technologies that are needed for services to work. This has led to more people trying to get rid of them. Attacks on web servers that use the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) can happen. People try to stop them from working. DDOS is one of the most dangerous Internet attacks because it can slow down or even shut down a web server. This type of attack is called distributed denial of service, or DDoS. This paper looked at 12 recent detections of a DDoS attack at the application layer, from January 2014 to November 2021, that were made at the application layer. There is a table that sums up each detection method, as well as a critical review of each, for future research. This way, future studies can look into how to detect HTTP DDoS attacks.
