Modelling of dual-band (S-band and X-band) RF-Photonics radar system in Opti-system environment

Due to the potential to create wideband frequency signals beyond the technological restrictions of regular radar, a photonics radar system has lately drawn a lot of interest as a next generation radar. In this research, we build a model of dual-band (S-band and X-band) photonics radar in the software simulation platform called Opti-system and simulate it for the real-time target recognition and high-resolution image processing with a low radar cross-section (RCS). In order to increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), photonics radar uses photonic frequency quadrupling for the transmitter,a delay interferometer or Mach-Zehnder modulator and a balanced photodetector to detect the de-chirped signal. We used Optisystem to test the photonics radar's performance. This article demonstrates that multi-band radar can identify targets flawlessly.
