Comprehensive Review on Intelligent Traffic Management System in India

The congestion control of road traffic has been a major issue in the era of modern transportation. The most essential aspect is the automobile network and communication system. Traffic congestion is a significant component in determining Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs) and routes the traffic in one or more directions towards the destination. Effective automobile communication systems can improve travel efficiency, minimize traffic hazards by improving the safety measures, as well as reducing the impact of congestion and delivering a more comfortable experience. This paper examines a variety of traffic management protocols that use diverse technologies such as RFID, Wi-Fi, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and other disruptive techniques such as IoT and data science. The paper also inspects the suitability of such systems to the Indian traffic scenarios. The categories in which the Indian system requires improvement include prioritization of emergency vehicles, fine collection and traffic signal control based on traffic density are described in this paper
