Application of Rubber Insulator Cleaning with Pulsed Fiber Laser

In order to study the laser cleaning process of insulator, our self-developed pulsed fiber laser with an average power of 200W and a scanning cleaning device were used to carry out the experiment of insulators laser cleaning. The cleaning effects on rubber insulators with different laser parameters were compared. The relationships between the cleaning effect and the laser pulse parameters as well as the laser cleaning speed was analyzed. Compared with porcelain and glass insulators, silicone rubber has different characterisitcs, such as material damage, etc. The results show that for the effective cleaning of silicon rubber insulators, the laser energy density threshold is about 0.39mJ/mm
²
. After optimizing the parameters of the pulsed laser and cleaning device parameters, the best cleaning efficiency of 3.4cm
²
/s was reached, at the same time, the cleaning effect was achieved with the laser energy about 0.04mJ. The results provide reference for the research of laser cleaning of rubber insulators.
