Stability analysis of Tianchi pumped storage power station connected to central China Power Grid

With the rapid development of UHV AC and DC power grids, traditional low-frequency and low-voltage load shedding devices cannot meet the huge power imbalance demand for control measures caused by serious faults such as UHV DC blocking. As a "stabilizer" and "regulator", the pumped storage power station plays an important role in the safe and stable operation of the power system. This paper analyzes the effect of the Tianchi Pumped-storage Power Station grid connection on the Central China Power Grid, and analyzes the impact of the pumped-storage power station's low-frequency cut-off pump instead of load-cutting on the stability of the power grid. In this paper, two scenarios of power system unloading fault and DC blocking fault are considered, and different load rejection measures and pump capacity of Tianchi pumped storage power station are set respectively. The low cycle load rejection action is not triggered at the lowest frequency point, and the power angle is not out of step. As a standard, check the amount of security control measures. The experimental results show that the pump-switching operation of the pumped-storage power station can replace the load shedding operation to a certain extent, so that the power grid can reduce the power load of users while ensuring the normal operation of the power grid, and improve the stability of the power system.
