Design of Hybrid Coupled Microstrip Antenna for 5G Applications

The two-dimensional multi beam antenna for fifth-generation (5G) applications is described in this research. Due to the rapid growth of mobile devices, more data usage, and greater data rates, the present generation of cellular mobile communication must be rethought, and the next generation 5G must match high-end criteria. A 2×2 E-shaped microstrip patch antenna with a wide band hybrid coupler that produces two beams in opposite directions at 3.5 GHz with 90° phase changes. The hybrid coupler has a 3dB coupling response at the output and a 90° phase difference between two output ports, resulting in low return loss and strong isolation. The coupler circuit is coupled to a 1×2 linear microstrip patch antenna, which produces beams with an angular width of +/-45 degrees with gain and directivity of 8.23 dBi.
