SPV Panel Hotspot Thermal Profile Modeling and Characterization with Active Cooling Employing CAD Simulation

Hotspots are high-temperature zones that deteriorate the solar panel material, decreasing the reliability and reducing solar panel conversion efficiency if not taken care of immediately. This paper studies the hotspots thermal profiles with and without suppressing and mitigation techniques to overcome the panel inefficiency using the Solid-Works CAD simulator. The spread of the hotspot takes a long time, allowing taking necessary action to prevent damage. The proposed simulation can prevent the generation of hotspots on solar panels, which leads to a decrease in the panel’s efficiency. This study also represents the hotspot temperature profile on air and hard water coolants concerning the time.
