Important issues in the science of nuclear energy

China has set a target of reaching a carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, and this target can be achieved through a reasonable, effective, and publicly recognized method. Nuclear power generation has many advant - ages in terms of technological maturity, economy, and sustainability. Concurrently, it has the advantages of being nonintermittent and less restricted by natural conditions compared with hydro-power, photovoltaics, and wind power. Nuclear power is a type of clean energy that can be used to replace fossil energy on a large scale. The economy and efficiency of nuclear power can provide an effective low-carbon solution. The following sections introduce my understanding of several important issues in nuclear energy science.
