Design and Implementation of Cross band and Wide Bandwidth Dynamic Channel Simulator

The wireless channel simulator can perform half-physical simulations of channel characteristics such as path loss, multipath fading, and frequency shift as a measuring instrument for wireless communication system testing and performance evaluation. To support the technical requirements of wireless channel simulation, we constructed a cross band and wide bandwidth dynamic channel simulator based on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). The actual test results show that the multipath fading distribution results of the channel simulator are consistent with the theory. Thus, it can provide a test method for the whole life cycle of the wireless communication system.
