Automated Inventory and Order Assistance Using Image Processing Techniques

Meteoric developments in technology manages to use intelligent appliances in quotidian life, one such device is the refrigerator. From kitchens in homes to shops and warehouses, refrigerator performs a prime part in preserving food products. There is a necessity for a more methodical modus operandi to supervise the number of products left for the near future and when it comes to supermarkets and shops, it is indispensable to avail the necessary load on time to ameliorate the business. This paper presents an independent refrigerator system that can control its inventory using a sensor network, that entails an image processing system using HD Camera, for any person who has difficulties in monitoring and ordering essential goods that need to refrigerated. The proposed system has been designed to monitor the products that have been set by the user, on how much is remaining or deficient at all time. The system is smart enough to notify the deficient quantity of perishable essentials through a message prompt on the mobile phone, like an e-commerce site. One-time password has been sent to the users upon ordering for authentication. YOLO V5 has been utilized as a major underlying architecture/algorithm to run the proposed system.
