Improved Secure, Energy and Trustworthiness (SEAT) Hybrid Protocol Using ECC-HMAC for Cluster based WSN

Energy, Security and Trustworthiness are considered to be main performance parameters in any communication system. As wireless sensor network is concerned external power feeding to the sensors is very difficult or impossible. Due to autonomous nature of network there is a possibility of malicious nodes present in the network and these nodes may insert their false data and corrupt the network. Hence along with energy saving, detection of malicious nodes and transmitting the data securely is important and challenging task. Applications of Wireless sensor networks entered almost in all the fields both in indoor and outdoor. Such as home automation, health, agriculture, weather, military and many more. In our proposed work we are mainly focussed on Energy consumption, Secure data transmission and Trustworthiness. Cryptographic scheme based on ECC is used for Secure data transmission, HMAC (Hybrid-Medium Access Control) provides Energy efficiency and detecting malicious nodes is done by sending Node Identity Number(NIN) to Cluster Master(CM). The simulation results of the work are compared with HBQ (Hash based queuing) and ENABLE protocol. The results shows that the proposed Protocol improves network throughput by 28%, energy consumption and utilisation by 18%, and routing overhead by 22% and End to End delay by 16% when compared to prior work.
