Natural language processing (NLP) has long been regarded as one of the most essential areas of AI research. However, in comparison to other fields, development in natural language processing has been modest. The goal of this research is to undertake a comprehensive literature evaluation in order to identify the most popular NLP applications, approaches, and tough difficulties. This article gives a broad overview as well as a discussion of lexical ambiguity in NLP applications such as Machine Translation, Speech Recognition, Text Mining, and Document Retrieval. The goal of this work is to explain several NLP applications, as well as lexical ambiguity and important approaches for dealing with it.This article is to discuss about one of the algorithm Simple 1-nearest-neighbour which deals with Lexical Ambiguity.
