Multiband Slotted Circular Microstrip Patch Antenna with Enhanced Bandwidth for Satellite Applications

In this paper, a circular shaped microstrip patch antenna with four slots on patch has been designed with Lshape and simulated on CST software. Simulated a microstrip antenna with FR4 substrate and thickness of 1.6 mm and a relative permittivity of $\varepsilon \mathrm{r}=4.3$ is used. In this structure microstrip antenna is resonant at three different frequencies 6. 3GHz, 7.4GHz and 9. 3GHz with return losses of -38.48, 33.19 and -37.88 with the band width of 590MHz(6.12 GHz to 6.71GHz), 750MHz(7.08GHz to 7. 83GHz) and 1. 27GHz (8. 68GHz to 9. 95GHz) respectively. The proposed antenna shows good performance across all three covered bands for Satellite Applications, Synchronous Transport Modulelevel1-SMTI and X-band applications.
