A Large Inter-satellite Non-dependent Routing Technology – IS-OLSR

Due to the long development cycle of satellites, high production costs and difficulties in building ground stations, large-scale swarm systems without dependency communications are the development trend of future satellite networks. The large-scale swarm system has network characteristics such as fast node movement, long communication distance and highly dynamic topology, and the direct adoption of existing routing will lead to problems such as increased time delay and high routing overhead, making the network performance poor and difficult to meet the specific service requirements of the large-scale swarm system. In this paper, using the traditional MANET protocol OLSR as the routing basis and the double-layer Walker constellation as the framework for inter-satellite network communication, we propose an inter-satellite routing protocol - IS-OLSR to improve network performance through three dimensions: subnetwork division, sub-network abstraction and gateway election, and it is proved by simulation experiments that using It has been proved by simulation experiments that the use of this protocol can effectively reduce the routing overhead by about 99% and the data transmission delay by 89%.
