Computer Simulation of the HHO Gas Power Unit for the Development of an Electronic Control System

In this paper, the problem of controlling a gas-diesel engine is considered, presented as well as the results of calculation and database establishment for the control unit are discussed. With the help of AVL Boost software, data on the relationship between turbocharger pressure, diesel quantity, and the amount of HHO added to the cycle is created. The amount of HHO gas is injected into the intake manifold from 0 to 40%, and the amount of diesel fuel is reduced to maintain a constant amount of heat supplied into the cycle. The results show that when the ratio of gas HHO in the fuel mixture changes from 0 to 20%, the engine performance decreases slightly (less than 10%) but decreases significantly from 20 to 40% of gas HHO. In addition, the results also present that the amount of soot, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide emissions decreases, at the same time, the amount of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon emissions increases with the addition of gas HHO.
