Image processing based Wheat spike detection using YOLO

Grains are the edibles used at large scales in any country based on geographical location, the weather of that place, and the availability of the grains. Wheat, Rice, and Maize are few among them. As the population is increasing, consumers are also increasing. With technological development, researchers and scientists have shown their interest in exploring and utilizing this development for humanity’s betterment. AI (Artificial Intelligence) takes over control in almost every field, and agriculture is one of those. Looking carefully, it is found that the essential thing that must be done in the first stage is to detect the grain spikes of maybe the plant’s fruit. Moreover, for the detection of this, object detection usually takes place. Many works have already been done, but still, the expectations are high. A few algorithms are already discussed in previously published paper to detect grain spikes. In this paper, the two best suitable algorithms: YOLO (You Only Look Once) and SSD (Single Shot Detection) have been discussed.
