Exploration on Teaching Reform of Material Mechanics in Vocational Colleges Based on Experimental Analysis

This paper introduces the background of Run-through External Cultivation class, and analyzes teaching characteristics of material mechanics in the docking university Conestoga College. Combined with the questionnaire survey and aiming at the problem that complex formulas of material mechanics are difficult to understand, the solutions of "Using Life Cases to Assist Understanding (ULCAU)" and "Verification with Finite Element Model (VFEM)" are proposed. The teaching experiment results show that ULCAU/VFEM can help students understand formulas and improve students' interest in learning.
