A Study on the Effect of Data-driven Traditional Chinese Medicine English Corpus on Students’ Learning Anxiety in ESP Teaching

To investigate the learning anxiety of college students in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) English ESP teaching in a domestic college of TCM, analyze the causes, and propose to improve it by using the data-driven model of TCM English corpus. 330 students were randomly selected for grouping experiment. The self-made TCM English Ability Scale, Corpus Data-driven Effectiveness Scale and Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) were used to measure, and the relevant data were analyzed by SPSS 24.0. The results are shown that students’ learning anxiety in TCM learning was at a serious level; There was no significant difference in learning anxiety among students of different genders and ages; The data-driven model of TCM English corpus can significantly improve students’ English performance; There is a significant negative correlation between the data-driven effectiveness of TCM English corpus and students’ learning anxiety; The data-driven effectiveness of TCM English corpus can significantly predict students’ learning anxiety. Based on the data-driven theory, the effective application of TCM English Corpus in ESP teaching can improve students’ motivation, interest and efficiency in the process of English learning.
